Academy Stars Represent in Thika

Mfangano Foundation Players Called Up to National Team After Standout County Showcase

It's been a landmark few months for Mfangano Foundation Football Academy, with several players earning representative honours at both county and national level.

In July, a group of academy players were selected to represent their county at a showcase tournament in Thika, competing against some of the region's best young talent. Their performances there did not go unnoticed — a proud moment for the academy and a clear sign of the standard of coaching and development taking place on Mfangano Island.

The county call-up has now led to even bigger news. Three of the academy's U15 boys have been selected to represent the national team at a tournament in Tanzania this August — a remarkable achievement for players from a small island community, and one of the biggest milestones in the academy's history to date.

These selections are a huge source of pride for everyone at Mfangano Foundation and reflect the hard work, discipline, and talent of the players, as well as the dedication of the coaching staff behind them. It's proof that with the right opportunities, young footballers from Mfangano can compete — and succeed — on the biggest stages.

The whole academy will be cheering the boys on in Tanzania, and looks forward to sharing more updates as the tournament unfolds.
