Historic Breaking of the Ground at Sena

Development at Sena Primary School, Mfangano Island.

We are thrilled to announce that Mfangano Foundation has officially broken ground on our long-awaited full pitch development project! This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting transformation on the grounds of Sena Primary School, bringing a long-held promise to our community to life.

For years, our young athletes on Mfangano Island have trained with immense passion but limited infrastructure. This new, dedicated sports space is designed to change that, offering a safe, high-quality environment where local talent can thrive.

Our mission extends far beyond the game. By introducing structured youth sports programs tied to academic attendance and community service, we use football as a vehicle for positive life choices, education, and mutual support. This development also strengthens our growing educational pathways, building on our exciting partnership with Agoro Sare High School to help secure scholarships and vital academic opportunities for our standout players.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every donor, volunteer, and local partner who helped us reach this day. This project belongs to our community, and we look forward to the day our youth can run out onto a pitch that truly reflects their incredible talent and spirit.

Stay tuned for more updates as construction progresses!
